The Great Law of Heaven

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.  (1 John 1:9 KJV)

Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.  (Isaiah 1:18 KJV)

You will again have compassion on us; you will tread our sins underfoot and hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea. (Micah 7:19 NIV)

As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.  (Psalm 103:12 KJV)

There are certain laws in life that we cannot change, like the law of gravity, for example.  If we throw something up in the air, it will come back down.  We can’t change that.

Even if we don’t like the law, we can’t change it.

In the Spiritual realm, there is also a law like that: the Great Law of Heaven.  The Great Law of Heaven is this:  You can’t have any sin to enter...

Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life. (Rev 21:27 NIV)

Even if we don’t like the Law, we can’t change it. Even Jesus couldn't change it.

And really, you wouldn’t want Him to change it – if there was sin in Heaven, any evil of any kind, Heaven wouldn’t be Heaven.

Because of His incredibly great love for us, Jesus did everything that he could do to help us get to Heaven.  He couldn't change that ancient Law of Heaven, so He did the only thing that could be done.  He left His throne, came to earth, and gave His blood to wash away our sins.

While He was with us, Jesus talked about Heaven quite a bit, and He also talked about Hell.  He warned us about Hell because He doesn't want anyone to go there. (see 1 Timothy 2:4)

The choice between Heaven and Hell is ours to make, and He wanted us to know the truth before we die.  Because one day, we will all die and stand before that beautiful Gate of Heaven.

And on that day, our spirits will be exposed and all our sins will be visible. If even one sin is on our heart, we will not be allowed into Heaven.

The good news is that we can never do anything so horrible that God can’t forgive us – there is no sin that can’t be washed away by the blood of Jesus.  That’s another spiritual law that can’t be changed:

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. (1 John 1:7 KJV)

His blood cleanses us from ALL sin, so that on the day we appear at the Gate to Heaven, our spirits can be spotless, washed clean of any and all of our past sins.  This amazing Spiritual Law is what the Bible calls the Gospel, or literally, “The Good News.” (Strong 1983)

... Christ’s death on the cross has made peace with God for all by his blood. This includes you who were once so far away from God. You were his enemies and hated him and were separated from him by your evil thoughts and actions, yet now he has brought you back as his friends. He has done this through the death on the cross of his own human body, and now as a result Christ has brought you into the very presence of God, and you are standing there before him with nothing left against you—nothing left that he could even chide you for   (Colossians 1:20-22 TLB)

Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men, nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.  And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. (1 Corinthians 6:9-11 NIV)

Taking advantage of this breathtakingly Good News is so easy.  We simply need to repent: talk to God, tell Him we’ve sinned, ask Him to wash us clean with the precious blood of Jesus.

Prayer

Dear Father,

I have sinned many times in my life, but I come to you now to say that I am so sorry for the things I have done.

I believe that Jesus came to earth to die, to give His life and His very blood to wash away my sins.

Thank you, Jesus, for Your tremendous love, and Your tremendous sacrifice.

Please forgive me; wash all my sins away with the precious blood of Jesus now, so that I can spend eternity in Heaven with You!!

Thank you so much, and please fill me with Your precious Holy Spirit to help me live for you!!  Amen
