God is so Amazing

Who was Jesus before He came to earth as a man?

He was the Word of God.

In Genesis, when God spoke, the world was created.

He created the world with His Word.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.  (John 1:1-4 NIV)

Our words reveal our emotions, our personalities, our plans, our desires.

Our words are an extension of ourselves.

God’s Word is an extension of God,

And, in a way I can't yet comprehend, God's Word was also God:

Who (Jesus), being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage (Philippians 2:6 NIV)

At some point, the Word volunteered to become human in order to save humanity.

Therefore, when Christ came into the world, he said:  "Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me; with burnt offerings and sin offerings you were not pleased.  Then I said, 'Here I am- it is written about me in the scroll- I have come to do your will, my God.' (Hebrews 10:5-7 NIV)

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.  (John 1:14 NIV)

At that point, God’s Word, who was in very nature God, also became God's Son.

“You are my Son; today I have become your Father"

“I will be his Father, and he will be my Son" (Hebrews 1:5 NIV)

What an amazing, glorious, magnificent God we serve!
